Dashboard
The Dashboard gives you a card for each garden you belong to. Each card shows the garden’s name, your role in it, a count of open tasks, and a count of active plantings. It is the starting point for switching between gardens and for getting a quick read on what is happening across all of them.
Global vs garden dashboard
There are two dashboards:
- Global dashboard (
/dashboard) — one card per garden, showing counts and your role. Accessible from the All gardens view. This is where you land if you have more than one garden and no default is set. - Garden dashboard (
/g/your-garden/dashboard) — a single garden’s operations console. Accessible from inside a garden. See below.
The garden ops console
The garden dashboard is a metrics-first instrument, not a greeting screen. It opens with the garden name, the date, and a one-line ops status (for example “3 overdue · 6.5h this week · 1 week over capacity”).
Below the header:
- KPI row — four numbers: hours of work this week, capacity used (this week’s hours against your weekly capacity, as a percentage), how many items need attention, and your harvest value. On the Free level the harvest figure shows yield weight instead of dollars; the dollar value is an Advanced and Expert feature.
- Workload trend — a compact bar chart of the weeks ahead with your capacity line. Tap through to the full Workload page.
- Harvest trend — the last 8 weeks of harvest by week (dollars on Advanced and Expert, pounds on Free).
- Attention needed — a single block listing what to act on: overdue tasks, weeks that are over capacity, and plantings that are ready to harvest. Each item links straight to the thing it is about. When nothing needs attention, the block says so.
The calm, present-focused counterpart to this console is Today. The dashboard is the business view; Today is what needs you right now.
Setting a default garden
If you manage or belong to one garden most of the time, you can set it as your default. When a default is set, opening the app goes straight to that garden’s Today page instead of the global dashboard.
To set a default, tap Set as default (★) on the garden card from the global Dashboard. Tap again to clear it. You can also change the default in Account settings.
Your role on each garden
Each dashboard card shows your role:
- Owner — full access: read, write, manage members, change settings
- Companion — read and write: log tasks, observations, and plantings; cannot change settings or invite members
- Observer — read-only: can view everything, cannot make changes
Tips
- Use the global Dashboard to spot gardens that have accumulated open tasks or stalled plantings.
- The counts update every time the page loads — they reflect the current state of your gardens.
- If you only have one garden, the app bypasses the global dashboard and takes you straight to that garden.
